About Drive Jumper
Drive Jumper is an independent buying-guide site about car battery chargers and maintainers, the plug-in units that charge a weak battery or keep a parked one topped up.
We write for people with a car, truck, motorcycle, boat or mower that sits for weeks at a time. Our aim is simple: help you pick a charger that suits your battery and your vehicle, and use it the right way.
What we cover
Our guides cover chargers and maintainers from brands like NOCO, CTEK, Schumacher, Battery Tender, Optimate and Clore. We sort them by amp rating, battery type, number of banks and the vehicle they suit.
We also explain the parts that confuse most shoppers. That means trickle versus float charging, AGM and lithium modes, 6V, 12V and 24V systems, and how long to leave a charger connected.
How we work
We read the specs, the manuals and the maker's own information for every charger we cover. We also look at what owners often report after a season or two of use.
Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains the steps.
What we are not
We don't make or sell chargers or batteries, and no brand pays us to rank its products. Drive Jumper isn't affiliated with NOCO, CTEK, Schumacher, Battery Tender or any other maker.
We don't claim to have tested every charger in a garage of our own. When we pick something, we say why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.
Batteries can give off gas and spark. We point you to the charger's manual and your vehicle's manual for hook-up steps, and we suggest a mechanic when a battery is damaged or you're unsure.
How the site is paid for
Some links here go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
That never decides which chargers we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
